On January 4, a coalition of Vermont construction unions held a press conference to announce support for Vermont Yankee (click here to read the original press release). VY, home to nearly 200 IBEW Local 300 members who earn an average of $81,000 per year, will close in 2012 unless its license is extended. Vermont's legislature has the ultimate say on whether this happens.
